What does BiJUSA mean to you?

BiJUSA is not just an organization—it is the realization of a dream deeply rooted in my love for the culture, values, and traditions of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. As someone who grew up cherishing the vibrancy of Chhath Puja, the taste of Litti Chokha, and the warmth of community celebrations, I felt a personal responsibility to recreate that sense of belonging for our diaspora here in America.

As a founding member, My goal with BiJUSA is to build a community that doesn’t just celebrate its heritage but also creates opportunities for its members to grow, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to society. Through initiatives like Chhath Puja celebrations, the Litti Chokha Mela, and mentorship programs for our youth, we aim to weave a network of support, shared identity, and progress.

Personally, I envision BiJUSA becoming a bridge that connects generations—where elders find pride in passing on traditions, youth discover their cultural roots, and everyone finds a platform to give back to the land we proudly call home.

Together, let us create a legacy that honors our past while inspiring a brighter future.

Great things happen, when good people come together!

What started as a gathering of a handful of people with a shared intent to bring the culture, tradition and most importantly the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh together in the Dallas Forth Worth Metroplex five years ago, has now grown into one of the fastest growing and most vibrant communities in North America, BIJUSA.

As one of the founding members of BiJUSA, I love how everyone comes together selflessly to make things happen and want to see BiJUSA help our Millennials and the Beta generation learn about our rich culture and traditions through the different platforms that BiJUSA provides!

-Sonit Singh, Founder

Growing up in a small town in Bihar, its rich traditions and vibrant culture became an integral part of my identity. As I moved across different places—first within India and later to the USA—I embraced new cultures, yet I realized that our roots shape who we are. While learning and adapting to diverse traditions is enriching, the heart longs to celebrate and take pride in its own heritage. BiJUSA is the realization of that longing—a community dedicated to preserving our culture while embracing the world around us.

As a founding member of BiJUSA, I envision it as a platform for our diaspora in North America to reconnect with and celebrate their culture and traditions. More importantly, I want BiJUSA to serve as a bridge for the next generation—offering those who haven’t had the fortune of experiencing their roots firsthand an opportunity to learn about, embrace, and take pride in their heritage.

What I love most about BiJUSA is its dedicated volunteers—individuals who share our vision and selflessly give their time and effort to bring our events to life. Whether it's the sacred Chhath Mahaparv, the vibrant Litti Chokha Mela, or a simple community picnic, everyone contributes with passion and takes pride in what we create together. It is this collective spirit that makes BiJUSA truly special.

-Anikanchan Raut, Founder

BIJUSA is a community-driven organization that brings together the rich culture, traditions, and people of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. What I love most is how the community comes together selflessly, with Chhath Puja being a beautiful example of this unity and dedication. It’s heartwarming to see everyone contribute with such passion, regardless of age, background, or personal commitments. The spirit of togetherness during these events reminds me of home, where festivals are more than just rituals—they are about connections, shared laughter, and lifelong memories. I also love how people step up to help each other, whether it’s organizing events, preparing prasad, or simply being there to support. Our mission goes beyond celebrating traditions; we want to help the next generation stay connected to their roots, values, and vibrant heritage. Together, we build a stronger, more connected community for the future.
